2026 Mazda MX-5 Miata Pricing and Features Revealed

Mazda has officially announced the pricing for the 2026 MX-5 Miata, and the news is promising for enthusiasts. The entry-level MX-5 Miata Sport starts at $31,665 for the soft-top model equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. This represents a modest increase of just $600 compared to the previous year’s price. The Club and Grand Touring trims also see a similar price hike of $600.

The MX-5 Miata Club is priced at $35,165, while the Grand Touring trim costs $36,965. Notably, the Grand Touring is the only trim that offers a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, which comes as a $920 upgrade.

Mazda continues to offer the Brembo BBS Recaro Package for the Miata Club, now available at a cost of $5,050. For 2026, this package includes a black Alcantara interior with light gray contrast stitching and black accents, enhancing both comfort and aesthetics.

Below is a summary of the 2026 pricing for the different trims:

| Model | 2026 Price | 2025 Price | Price Change | |-------------------------------|------------|------------|--------------| | MX-5 Miata Sport 6MT | $31,665 | $31,065 | $600 | | MX-5 Miata Club 6MT | $35,165 | $34,565 | $600 | | MX-5 Miata Grand Touring 6MT | $36,965 | $36,365 | $600 |

The ND Miata, first introduced in the third quarter of 2015, still relies on Mazda’s 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder engine, delivering 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. The hardtop variant, known as the Miata RF, is $750 pricier in 2026, starting at $43,135 for the Club trim, which includes the Brembo BBS Recaro Package. The Miata RF Grand Touring is priced at $39,685, up by $600 from the previous year.

For those interested in premium finishes, Tan Nappa leather is available for an additional $300 on the Grand Touring models. Four premium paint options—Aero Gray Metallic, Snowflake White Pearl Mica, Soul Red Crystal Metallic, and Machine Gray Metallic—are available at a cost of $595 each, remaining unchanged from 2025.

What You Get

The entry-level Miata Sport comes with an 8.8-inch infotainment screen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes essential safety features such as blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and driver attention alert.

Inside, the Sport trim features a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cloth bucket seats, a six-speaker stereo, dual USB-C ports, and power one-touch down windows. Standard equipment includes 16-inch wheels and LED headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights.

The Club trim adds Bilstein dampers, a front shock tower brace, DSC-Track mode, 17-inch black metallic wheels, vinyl leather, and heated cloth seats. Wireless connectivity is also included as standard.

Customers who choose the Brembo BBS Recaro Package receive unique wheels, red brake calipers, and an aero kit, further enhancing the car's performance and style.

The Grand Touring trim sits at the top of the lineup, offering amenities like adaptive front lights, high-beam control, traffic sign recognition, radar cruise control (automatic), and rain-sensing wipers. Inside, it features heated leather seats and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Competition in the Affordable Sports Car Market

In the segment of affordable sports cars, the Mazda Miata remains the most budget-friendly option. The 2026 Toyota GR86 starts at $32,395, including a $1,195 destination charge, and is powered by a 2.4-liter boxer engine producing 228 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. The mechanically similar Subaru BRZ starts at $37,055 after the automaker discontinued its entry-level model for 2026.

The Ford Mustang, featuring a turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, begins at $34,635. While it delivers significantly more power than the Miata, BRZ, and GR86, with 315 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque on premium fuel, Ford limits the manual transmission option to the Mustang GT, which starts at $48,555. This makes the Mustang GT considerably more expensive than the Miata.

Despite these alternatives, the 2026 Mazda MX-5 Miata continues to be a compelling choice for drivers seeking an enjoyable and affordable sports car. Sales of the roadster increased by 7.7% last year, demonstrating its enduring appeal. Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or a first-time buyer, the Miata remains a strong contender in the market.
