19 Cities to Soon Welcome Buc-ee's – Is Yours on the List?

Buc-ee's Expands Beyond Texas, Creating New Travel Destinations
For many drivers, gas stations are just a necessary stop. However, for fans of Buc-ee’s, these locations have become much more than that—they are destinations. The beaver-branded chain is set to expand its footprint across the United States, with new locations opening in states beyond its traditional Texas roots.
By the end of 2026, Buc-ee’s plans to open four additional travel centers, with another 15 locations planned in the following years. This expansion marks a significant shift for the company, which has grown from a single store in 1982 to a nationwide network of over 50 locations.
Expansion Across the Country
Buc-ee’s is making its mark in cities across Ohio, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arizona, and more. Florida, Tennessee, and Arkansas are among the states expected to see the most new Buc-ee’s locations as the chain continues to grow into the Southwest and Midwest.
Each new location promises a supersized pit stop featuring over 100 gas pumps, an extensive store filled with snacks like brisket and beaver nuggets, and famously clean bathrooms. These travel centers have transformed gas stations into full-service experiences, drawing attention not just for their convenience but also for their unique offerings.
A Cult Following Among Younger Generations
Buc-ee’s has developed a loyal following, especially among Gen-Z, thanks to its social media-friendly snacks and large-scale appeal. Popular items include the Sausage on a Stick, Dr Pepper Icees, and a wall of jerky that appeals to both locals and travelers.
Recently, the announcement of a new Buc-ee’s location in Fort Pierce, Florida, generated headlines. Initial reports suggested the store would be the largest ever, spanning 76,000 square feet—half the size of a Walmart Supercenter. However, this claim was later corrected by the company, which clarified that the Luling, Texas location remains the largest.
More Than Just a Gas Station
Buc-ee’s has redefined what a gas station can be. Its football-field-sized travel centers offer hundreds of fuel pumps, restrooms that often win national awards, and a vast selection of snacks, souvenirs, and Texas-themed merchandise.
Inside, visitors can find freshly made barbecue sandwiches, an abundance of Beaver Nuggets (a caramelized corn puff snack), house-brand jerky cut and packaged on-site, and aisles of branded apparel featuring the chain’s grinning beaver mascot.
Employees in bright red shirts work efficiently between checkout counters, often outnumbering those found in supermarkets, ensuring smooth operations even during peak travel times.

Community Events and Continued Growth
As Buc-ee’s expands, each new location often brings excitement, with traffic backups, social media buzz, and curious travelers treating the opening like a community event rather than a simple store launch.
The company remains privately owned and keeps its financial details confidential, adding to the allure of a brand that has turned the humble gas stop into a piece of Americana.
The first Buc-ee’s opened in Texas in 1982, and the company now operates 54 locations across 11 states, all open 24/7. While the majority of stores are in Texas, others can be found in Colorado, Missouri, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Alabama.
The largest Buc-ee’s location, located in Luling, Texas, spans 75,000 square feet with 120 fuel pumps. It took the title of the biggest Buc-ee’s from a Tennessee location that opened in 2023.
Alongside the upcoming Fort Pierce location, Buc-ee’s has other openings planned for 2026 in Texas, Ohio, and Arizona. When the monster station opened in Sevierville, Tennessee, crowds lined up overnight to witness the event.
The store features 120 gas pumps, a barbecue brisket counter with a “Texas round-up station,” and rows upon rows of beef jerky. But perhaps the most popular item is the famous Beaver Nuggets—caramel corn that has become a staple for customers.
On the other side of the store, visitors can purchase merchandise such as T-shirts, mugs, socks, stickers, swimsuits, and other items featuring the Buc-ee’s beaver. The location also includes a 250-foot car wash and employs 400 full-time staff.
