Meghan Markle's Proud Mom Moment If Lilibet Did This

A Role Model for Princess Lilibet
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has shared her admiration for a young girl who she believes could be a role model for her daughter, Princess Lilibet. The 4-year-old princess is growing up with a strong influence from her mother, who values kindness, compassion, and community service.
In an interview with Avery Colvert, a 15-year-old founder of the Altadena Girls organization, Meghan praised the teen’s efforts in supporting teenage girls affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. Colvert’s work has inspired many, including Markle, who expressed how proud she would be if her daughter were to follow in Colvert’s footsteps.
A Heart of Gold
During the interview, Markle highlighted the importance of Colvert’s contributions, even if they hadn’t reached such a large scale. “Even if it hadn’t, it still would have been meaningful and made an impact,” she said. “My goodness, if our daughter turns out to be anything like you, I'll be the proudest mom.”
Colvert, who is still excited about the future, shared her thoughts on the significance of her work. “When you're a teenager, everything feels like the biggest thing in the world,” she explained. “Even if it's not going to matter in 10 years, it really matters to you now.”
Expanding the Mission
Colvert’s mother, Lauren Sandidge, shared plans for the future of Altadena Girls, including the development of a new community center. This space will serve as a hub for various programs that support the same community. Collaborations with brands like Fender and Paris Hilton are already underway, with music rooms and creative spaces being developed.
“We need support to make sure we can be sustainable long-term,” Sandidge mentioned. “It's definitely bold to do a physical space this soon. It's a very ambitious project, but we believe it's necessary.”
Inspiring the Next Generation
Colvert remains grateful for the success of Altadena Girls and aims to create a space where every girl feels inspired. “I want to create a new generation of women who feel confident that they can do anything,” she said. It’s clear that Markle sees these qualities in Colvert and hopes her daughter will embody them.
Connecting with Her Children
Markle also spoke about how she connects with her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. She uses a ritual called "rose and thorn" to engage them in conversations after school. This method helps elicit more than just simple responses, encouraging deeper reflection.
“‘What's your rose and your thorn?’” she asks. “She goes, ‘My day was just a blast.’” This approach helps her understand her children’s experiences and emotions better.
Encouraging Young Women
At an Afro Women and Power event in Colombia, Markle emphasized the importance of encouraging young girls to find their voices. “Part of the role modeling that I certainly try to do as a mother is to encourage our daughter—she has found her voice,” she said. “We're so proud of that because that is how we, as I was saying, create the conditions in which there's a ripple effect of young girls and young women knowing that if someone else is encouraging them to use their voice and be heard, that's what they're going to do.”
A Bright Future
With powerful female influences in her life, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie are set to grow up as thoughtful and confident individuals. Their mother’s commitment to community service and empowerment is shaping their values and future.
As the story of Altadena Girls continues to unfold, it’s clear that the impact of young leaders like Avery Colvert is far-reaching. Their efforts not only help those in need but also inspire others to take action and make a difference.
