Flip-flops might be the stereotypical summer shoe, but slide sandals are really where it’s at. And if you need new slides for the season, Aldi is releasing premium slide sandals this week that are not only cute and comfy, but they look a lot like high-end brands like Archies and Lululemon which cost almost nine times as much.
From June 11 to June 17, Aldi will be selling Crane Premium Slides for just $7.99. You can find these sandals in the Aldi Finds aisle of local U.S. stores while supplies last. They’re a classic slide design: they have a molded footbed for comfort and a thick strap on top to hold them onto your feet. They’re standard slide sandals that you can wear to the pool, after working out or playing a sport, or that you can throw on to go get the newspaper.

In addition to the molded footbed, the sole is made with “double-density foam” meaning that it’s durable and gives the wearer more support and comfort—great for those who need more arch support or who need some help recovering from a tough workout. The “premium” in their name also probably refers to the upper strap which is made from a matte faux leather material.
Aldi’s slide sandals come in three colors this time around: black , green and ivory . The black is pretty standard and self-explanatory, and the ivory is pretty much just white (maybe slightly off-white). The green slides are a rich dark olive color; definitely more of an earthy tone than vibrant.

Again, these sandals aren’t revolutionary and the first of their kind; they look a lot like many others on the market right now. This includes Lululemon’s Women's Restfeel Slide, which currently costs $68. They have the exact same construction and have “dual-density cushioning” which is a very similar concept to Aldi’s foam. They also have a thick upper strap; theirs is made with a foam lining to make the shoe even comfier. The outsole is made with rubber.
Arch Support Slides , $60 at Archies and on Amazon

Another pretty popular lookalike is Archies' Arch Support Slides , which currently cost $60 at Archies and on Amazon . They have the same design; they’re also a slide sandal with a molded footbed. They even have a similar green color. The main difference here is that Archies slides have a one-piece construction, meaning that their upper strap is connected to the sole like how Crocs are. This also means that the upper strap is made of the same rubber material as the sole and outsole. These also are made specifically for arch support and supporting your feet (which makes them good choices for people who have plantar fasciitis).
Even though you can’t expect the same level of orthopedic support from Aldi’s sandals, their Crane Premium Slides are still a good choice if you’re looking for some affordable slide sandals this summer.
